Cat Piss and God

I can at times be up tight. This is not a self revelation of recent times, I have always known this.

While at work the other day, my wife sent me an email along the following lines,"The cat has pissed in your wardrobe, he seems to have been there to do his business a number of times, all your clothes are wet and stink!". I then received the following message a few hours later, "I have just found him pissing in the kitchen rubbish bag, I can't believe he's doing this". (Just in case Mrs Slur reads this - I know you didn't actually write that, but the "flavour" of the email was that - arse appropriately covered).

Oddly it didn't disturb me, in fact I think I took it much better than Mrs Slur. In the past I would have said some choice expletives and demanded justice...but I took it in my stride as a wave of serenity spread over me. Mind you I wasn't the one who subsequently had to do 3 loads of washing.

I believe this calm may have arisen, to some extent, due to my up coming confirmation. Archbishop DR Peter Hollingsworth (ex governer general) presided over the confirmation today, of not only myself but also my wife (Mrs Slur), my brother and my mum. It was a very "Godly" occasion, and to be honest I quite enjoyed it. It also co-incided with the baptism of my nephew Sam to which I am a God parent. Now don't get me wrong I am no bible basher, and apart from the last few months, I have rarely stepped inside a church. However this whole "christian" experience has been quite pleasant and has provided me with another perspective of life.

Now I am not saying I now have the patience and overall good naturness of Mother Theresa, but I do hold myself more in check.

Mind you I think I just saw the cat peeing on the lounge rug........it may now be time for the cat to meet his maker......

Captain Cescational and Key Issues

It should be noted that it takes me just over an hour to get to work. To get to work I drive to a train station and then catch it into town. I could walk to a closer station on a different line, but I choose not to because I don't get a seat on that train. I like sitting. I hate standing. The problem I found myself in today was on the way home. The trick in catching the train line where my car is, is to remember to take your keys with you from work so when you get to the desired station you have the ability to enter your car and drive home. This was not the case this evening. Surprisingly I did not curse, probably too tired. Luckily I had not forgotten my phone and with one decisive phone call Mrs Slur came to the rescue!

Now to the all important news that my favourite Arsenal player ...in fact any current player from any club, Cesc Fabregas who has been appointed the captain of Arsenal. Sanity prevailed and the petulant Gallas has been given the flick. It won't solve all our problems, but it is a step in the right direction. Now see us whip Chelsea's arse this weekend with Cesc scoring a brace - you heard it here first!
Ok...I now have to pick up my car from the station...laters.....

A Bad Taste in the Mouth

Hello to you all. This is the beginning.....perhaps the beginning of the end but the beginning nevertheless. You would think it would be a joyous occasion....but I am tired and Arsenal are under siege at the moment. I also had marinara linguine this evening...and am burping it up now - leaving an unsavoury aroma emanating from my mouth - too much info? No? Then welcome to my blog!
